Arménie Ministerstvo zahraničních věcí odsoudilo Ázerbájdžán za pořádání takzvaných 'falešných soudů' proti bývalým vojenským a politickým lídrům Náhorního Karabachu. Arménská vláda tvrdí, že tyto soudy jsou používány jako nástroj politického tlaku a manipulace společnosti. Protestující v Arménii vyšli do ulic, požadují propuštění Rubena Vardanyana a dalších Arménů zadržených v Ázerbájdžánu. Problém zůstává velmi citlivý, s napětím mezi oběma národy nadále eskalujícím. Arménie trvá na tom, že akce Ázerbájdžánu porušují lidská práva a mezinárodní právní normy.
